Our fantastic Shoo Skin Art Contest has wrapped up in style, with a judging livestream last Thursday to crown the winners. 🎉
We were blown away by the creativity, with tonnes of entries and loads of people getting involved — both in person at events and across our Discord. So let’s take a little stroll back through the contest, from the first doodles to the final drumroll…
How Did It Work?
It all started with a 2D Shoo template from our art team, part colouring sheet, part blank canvas for digital artists to run wild with.
Our front-end crew then whipped up a custom page where entries could be uploaded and previewed live in 3D, so you could see your glorious Shoo fully realised in the game world.

From there? It was over to you. And wow, did you deliver. Check out some of these awesome entries.
Gamescom
The contest went live just as we headed out to Gamescom (catch our full write-up here). Armed with a whole box of Shoo design sheets, we invited everyone who stopped by our booth to join in.
The results? A rainbow of hand-coloured Shoos (yes, mostly in crayon) basking in the blue glow of the Hoomanz booth, creating some surprisingly awesome neon effects. Check them out:
Digital Delights
Back online, our Discord community really upped the game. Digital entries started pouring in, and it turns out you lot are hiding some serious artistic superpowers. From stylish reimaginings to wild, out-there ideas, the creativity was off the charts.
Closing
The contest closed on September 21, and on the 24th we went live with our judging stream. Our panel looked at every entry in both 2D and 3D, scoring them on:

It was a long (and sometimes heated) debate, but it gave a fascinating peek into the design thinking behind Hoomanz. If you missed it, you can catch the full stream here.
Winners
It was incredibly tough to pick favourites (seriously, you didn’t make it easy). But after much back-and-forth, a few entries rose to the top.
Honorable Mentions
We couldn’t let these gems slip by without some love. A whole host of fantastic entries just missed out on the top 3, but each one brought its own spark of brilliance. Every artist in our Top 10 will be getting a pack of Hoomanz! stickers as a shiny thank-you for their awesome efforts. ✨
3rd place
Sanja’s Baba Yaga - inspired entry. Our judges loved the wood grain texture as well as the hidden details (like the chicken feet).
2nd Place
Super shoo by Glitch.exe - Our judges loved this idea for its simplicity and how well they felt it would fit into the humor of Hoomanz!
1st Place
🥳 Congratulations to Gruftinis! 🥳
They’ve bagged a custom Hoomanz controller, a bunch of goodies, and the ultimate prize — their Shoo skin will be remade and added to the final game!
Our judges loved the bold use of colour and crisp lines — details that would really pop in-game. They’re already buzzing with ideas on how to bring this skin to life in Hoomanz!

That’s a wrap for this contest… but Shoo isn’t done Showing off just yet. A brand-new challenge is right around the corner!
