Taylor Hewitt

Junior 3D Artist

Taylor is our Cornwall-based, Falmouth-trained Junior 3D Artist. Getting a foot in the industry door is notoriously tricky, and Taylor did it the proper way: by being largely self-taught, grinding through game jams, and balancing the dream with a seven-year stint as a barista.

At Koffeecup, Taylor handles 3D art duties while occasionally dipping a toe into the world of VFX. Having been tipped off about the studio by a few friends already on the inside, Taylor has found it a grand place to grow as an artist. When the screen goes off, the coastal surroundings offer a stark contrast to digital pixels. Taylor spends their spare time leaning heavily into traditional, tactile crafts - think long walks, textiles, fermenting things, and brewing homemade mead (which sounds pleasantly medieval).

The gaming passion runs deep, leaning toward obscure PC-98 titles, Touhou games, and a yearly commitment to the Four Job Fiesta charity run of Final Fantasy V. Home life is overseen by Vivi, a seven-year-old Quaker parrot named after Final Fantasy IX royalty. Vivi likes cheese, sweetcorn, and peas, harbors a slight suspicion of men, dances when the mood takes her, and can say "bacon" in a quiet, slightly ominous whisper.

Koffee: Flat white, maybe a dash of hazelnut. It has to be homemade, though. (Seven years of professional coffee-making leaves lasting scars.)
