Renan Yilmaz
Unreal Developer
Renan arrived at Koffeecup from France with a background in IT and a specialised game development education from Studio Mercier. He spent the previous four years at Exalted Studio, where he steadily climbed the ranks to Lead Dev and worked across both iterations of the Big Helmet Heroes IP - guiding the original PvP Arena title on mobile, before transitioning the studio's focus to the major PC and console release of Big Helmet Heroes. It’s an experience that gave him a thorough understanding of what happens when creative ambitions meet hard technical limitations.
As our Unreal Developer, Renan’s daily routine consists of writing systems, squashing bugs, and ensuring the engine does exactly what the designers and artists intended. Having spent years in the indie trench, he came to Koffeecup to experience a larger studio environment and to see how his traditional gaming background translates into our more experience-oriented projects.
Away from his desk, Renan is a dedicated Dungeons & Dragons Master, which means he spends an enormous amount of time writing stories and building imaginary worlds for his players to inevitably dismantle. He also dabbles in streaming, experiments with personal tech projects, and plays competitive video games to satisfy his need for a mechanical challenge. He’s also a massive Tolkien enthusiast, which aligns nicely with the whole fantasy worldbuilding habit.
Koffee: He used to take it black, but he’s swapped over to black tea. A mature, sensible transition.
