Lilian Rochotte

Game Designer

Hailing from Strasbourg (a fact he is rightly proud of), Lilian has traded the land of pretzels for the digital frontier. As a Game Designer, he’s found a natural home in the Koffeecup ecosystem, a place where we take the technology seriously, but ourselves significantly less so. He enjoys the specificity of the craft, avoiding the usual industry fluff in favour of mechanics that actually work.

Most of Lilian’s creative breakthroughs happen in the shower, but his most spontaneous work occurs on stage. Outside of the office, he performs with an improv comedy troupe he co-founded. He thrives on the inherent risk of the stage, where the lack of a plan forces a reliance on instinct and team trust. For Lilian, creating a coherent story out of nothing is the ultimate team sport; it requires being yourself and adapting in real-time, much like a well-oiled development cycle.

When he isn’t inventing mechanics or characters on the fly, Lilian is likely seeking out games that make him cry - The Last of Us being a primary culprit. He values emotional depth as much as technical logic, provided there’s a solid team behind it.
