Darrell Issa

Data Analyst

Darrell was the sort of child who treated the family toaster as a complex puzzle, usually to his parents’ profound concern. Having spent his youth taking electronics apart -and occasionally putting them back together in a functional state -his transition into Data Analysis was less of a career choice and more of a logical progression. After navigating his way through the industry with a focus on breaking cycles and building expertise, Darrell has landed at Koffeecup with three game credits already under his belt.

At the studio, he resists the urge to treat data like a dry spreadsheet exercise. Instead, he views himself as a storyteller, translating rows of numbers into a narrative about how players actually move, fail, and thrive within our ecosystems. He’s the bridge between a designer’s vision and the player’s reality, ensuring the "lore" of the backend makes sense. He finds genuine inspiration in the multidisciplinary chaos of game dev, though he admits his focus is occasionally compromised by a particularly interesting bird outside the window.

A self-described "extroverted introvert," Darrell is a night owl who survives the AM hours solely through caffeine. When he isn’t deep in the Mistborn universe or reminiscing about his late, delightfully grumpy Jack Russell (named Zell, for the FFVIII fans in the room), he’s likely gaming to relax or plotting how to use teleportation to avoid the gym. He’s a man of specific tastes: juicy steaks, Brandon Sanderson novels, and the occasional existential Harvey Dent quote.

Koffee: A vanilla latte. Usually dairy, but he’s surprisingly open-minded about the right oat milk pairing.
