Center Parcs - Flying Forest Whale
Web game
We created a game based on the TV campaign to take the imagination from the TV directly to people's fingertips
THE Brief
Center Parcs’ imaginative marketing campaign transported TV viewers to a dreamy scenario of magic and fun adventure. We created a game based on the TV campaign to take the imagination from the TV directly to people's fingertips. Gamers could try their luck in the online contest with 3 prizes consisting of a short family break at one of their villages - incredible considering each prize was worth up to £1,000!
Our Approach
The game was playable online and saw designers, 3D artists, developers and QA testers work around the clock to create an amazing gaming experience. It resulted in an endless-scrolling type game, where gamers had to fly a whale, as far as they could, making sure to avoid obstacles along the way and saving as many woodland creatures as possible.

How did we do it
All of the animated game elements (from the whale to the obstacles) were created by our awesome in-house 3D team and then implemented using WebGL technology - this made the game accessible to all web and mobile platforms.
The environment was dynamic, so it passed through different times to represent the players progression - day and night. We increased the game difficulty progressively, due to the nature of the prize, but made sure that it was fun for every type of player - from children to your seasoned gamer dad!
A solid backend architecture updated live Leaderboards and, most importantly, deterred any hacking or cheating attempts - we’re looking at you, gamer dads.
