Akinbiyi Babarinde

3D Artist

Originally from Milton Keynes, Akinbiyi's career has taken a distinctly European path. After studying CG Arts and Animation at UCA Rochester, he spent a period working at an Apple Store before relocating to Fürth, Germany, where he spent six years as a 3D artist for Playmobil. After six years calling Germany home, Paris was the next chapter, and Koffeecup the right landing spot, drawn by the variety of projects and the opportunity to work on Hoomanz before its release.

In terms of his actual day job, Akinbiyi is a 3D Artist, which means his routine is a mix of Maya asset creation, Substance texturing, and importing models into the engine. He also handles animation on the rare occasion the pipeline demands it. He is a man of considerable focus; he once drew every single day for an entire year - not for the social media clout, but as a pure exercise in personal discipline. He didn't miss a single day.

Outside of work, Akinbiyi splits his time between Muay Thai, life drawing, watching superhero films, and actively avoiding finishing the various personal projects he's started. He is a connoisseur of narrative adventures like The Wolf Among Us, Detroit: Become Human, and Inside -  the latter being, in his view, a damn near perfect game. He holds the UFC in equally high regard. He likes dogs and thinks sharks are cool

Koffee: Strictly when layered between cream, ladyfingers, and a heavy dusting of cocoa. (Liquid form is out of the question.) (edited)
